You come across cardboard boxes everywhere. They are in the supermarket, your order from a webshop is shipped in them and your favourite bottles of wine are also ready in a box at the liquor store on Friday afternoon. All that packaging has to come from somewhere. At DutchBoxx in Heerenveen, for example, where they produce corrugated cardboard packaging. A conversation with director Piet Stilma.
“Sometimes when I receive a gift, I find the packaging more interesting than the content” Stilma begins laughing. “Ultimately, it is a disposable product and consumers don't really think about it. I think that is logical. But I like to see the ideas that companies sometimes come up with. The cardboard box has been around for a long time, of course, but there are still surprising developments.”
